Video to Text: Turn a YouTube Video Into Words
A video to text converter for public YouTube captions. Extract the text, keep the times, and know when a file upload is a different job.
Two different jobs share this name
One job is a file on your computer. You upload it and a model listens. The other job is a YouTube link that already has captions. You paste the link and read the caption text.

Extract the text
Paste a public link. The generator returns the lines. You can read them as segments or as one paragraph.
- Search the transcript when the video is long.
- Copy the lines you need.
- Download TXT if you are writing. Download SRT if you are editing.
What will not convert
Private videos, age-restricted videos, and videos with captions turned off. A playlist is one video at a time. An upload from your camera is not a YouTube URL, so it does not belong here.
